Philippe Halsman's never before seen series Jump is being shown at the Laurence Miller Gallery (NY) through May 28, 2010. In the 1950's Halsman photographed the rich, famous and powerful. After formal photography sessions with these prominent figures he would ask them to jump for a final image. The results are lighthearted and amusing. These men and women, with their shoes and heels off can hardy keep a serious face.My question is: What's with all the cats being thrown ?
